The Oaths

Members of Parliament

" I swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, her heirs and her successors, according to law, so help me God."

Judges

" I do swear by Almighty God that I will well and truly serve our sovereign lady, Queen Elizabeth 2, in the office of Her Majesty's court and I will do right to all manner of people after the laws and usages of this realm without fear or favour, affection or ill-will."

Police Officers

"I so solemnly and sincerely declare that I will well and truly serve our Sovereign Lady the Queen in the office of constable without favour or affection, malice or ill-will; and that I will to the best of my power, cause the peace to be kept and prevent all offences against the persons and properties of Her Majesty's subjects."

Bishops
